Morocco head coach, Vahid Halilhodžić has reacted to the pairings for the group stage at next year’s African Cup of Nations.
The Atlas Lions have been drawn in Group C alongside four-time Champions Ghana, 2017 AFCON hosts Gabon and debutants Comoros.
Halilhodžić reacting to the group stage draw after it was done, described Ghana as the toughest team in the group.
“The Ghana team is good and has a good reputation at the African level, and has good players, as well as the Gabon team, which we defeated in our last match.”
“The Comoros team has achieved great development in its levels, as it qualified for the first time. for the finals,” he told the official website of the Moroccan football federation.
The Atlas Lions will begin their AFCON 2021 campaign against the Black Stars on January 10, 2022.
Morocco will be hoping to win another AFCON title when they go into next year’s showpiece having gone on a drought after their first and only triumph in 1976.
