African Legend and Ghana’s all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan has disclosed he believes the continent is ready for its grand showpiece, the African Cup of Nations.
The 33rd edition of the TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations is set to take place in Cameroon next year with the tournament running from January 9th, 2022 – February 6th, 2022.
Hosts, Cameroon, will kick start the tournament with their opening game against Burkina Faso after both sides were paired in Group A following the completion of the Group stage draw.
Asamoah Gyan, who featured in 7 editions of the African Cup of Nations described the tournament as the biggest event on the continent and believes everyone is ready to enjoy next year’s showpiece.
“We’re expecting a good tournament. It’s a big moment for Africa. When you talk about the African Cup of Nations, every African is ready for this event” – Gyan said.
“We’re also ready here and we can’t really wait for this to start. It is a very important event for Africa” – Gyan added.
