Ghana’s Black Stars will find out the opponents they will face in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon next year.
Coach Charles Akonnor’s side have booked a ticket to the 33rd edition of Africa’s flagship football tournament and will bid to win a first title since 1982.
But even before that, they will have to start from the group stage and Thomas Partey and co will know who they face in the Group stage.
Having been housed in Pot 2, the Black Stars won’t face the likes of Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea.
Ghana can likely face host nation Cameroon, Algeria, Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia who are housed in Pot 1.
The Stars can also face Cape Verde, Gabon, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Guinea-Bissau in Pot 3.
Lastly, the Black Stars will face either of Malawi, Sudan, Equatorial Guinea, Comoros, Ethiopia or Gambia.
The draw will take place at the Yaounde Conference Centre, Cameroon at 6 p.m. GMT on Tuesday August 17.
