He might be very far away in Manchester, but renowned Spanish Coach Pep Guardiola played a role in Hearts of Oak’s double winning campaign, it has been revealed.
The Manchester City gaffer has revolutionized the modern game with his brand of football and coaching philosophy.
Wherever he has been, Guardiola, a former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has not only won top trophies but also played an anesthetic brand of football that pleases the eye and satisfies the football hunger of the avid fan.
In a season that has been historic for Accra Hearts of Oak, Pep Guardiola played a role in there although he was not directly in charge.
Hearts of Oak started the just ended campaign unconvincingly and had to change coaches. Edward Odoom who started the campaign was moved to the junior side with Kosta Papic taking over. Subsequently Papic left after a run of poor form alongside a fallout with management with Samuel Nii Noi taking temporary charge. Eventually, Samuel Boadu was hired to take charge and that is when the fortunes of the club turned around for good.
Boadu masterminded a winning run that eventually secured the league title; Hearts’ first in ten years and also completed the double by winning the FA Cup.
After delivering Hearts of Oak’s first double since 2000, Samuel Boadu has shared how this proved possible.
In a lengthy exclusive chat with Kumasi-based Silver FM, Boadu, a former Medeama SC gaffer shared that he draws inspiration from the work of Pep Guardiola.
