Asante Kotoko SC head coach Mariano Barreto Jeronimo has taken a big swipe at the club claiming they are only a big brand and not a big team.
The Portuguese trainer who joined the Reds following the departure of Maxwell Konadu was given the oversight responsibility of managing the club’s fortunes in the just ended 2020/2021 season
The outspoken Coach has however not been pleased with the conditions he’s been working and bared it all out in an interview with Kumasi Based Nhyira FM.
According to Barreto, Kotoko does not meet the requirements of a big team as they lack the basic infrastructure required of big teams.
“I know Asante Kotoko fans won’t be happy with this but I must say it,” he expressed.
“Asante Kotoko is only a big name and not a not a big team because they lack so things a big team should be having.”
“A big team should be having their own physiotherapy room, a strong youth team, philosophy, video room amongst other infrastructure.”
