English Championship sise Peterborough have announced the signing of Ghanaian youngster Kwame Poku ahead of the 2020/2021 season.
The midfielder has signed a long-term contract with Peterborough who secured promotion to the second-tier in the 2020/2021 season.
He joins the club following a fruitful negotiation with his club Colchester United.
Peterborough have paid an undisclosed fee for the attacking midfielder who will wear the number 15 shirt at the Weston Homes Stadium.
“I am really excited about this signing. He is a young player I have watched for the last 18 months. We enquired about him last season and we have continued to monitor his progress,” Posh boss Darren Ferguson said.
“He had a bit of a stop-start season last year, which can happen with young ones. He can play as a 10 and he can play wide right or even wide left at a push. He is a talented boy and I believe he has real potential. It is a really good signing for the football club.”
Poku spent two years at Colchester United having joined the club in July 2019.
He scored six goals in over 70 appearances he made for Colchester United.
