General manager for Accra Great Olympics, Oluboi Commodore has denied reports about star midfielder Gladson Awako inking a 2 year deal with Accra Hearts of Oak.
Local media reports in the last 48 hours have suggested that Awako, a standout performer for the Dade Boys in the just ended season is on his way to Hearts. The reports went further to claim the player has signed the dotted lines on a two year deal with the recently crowned Ghanaian champions.
However, Oloboi Commodore has refuted such claims. In his words, Hearts of Oak are yet to even formally notify Olympics of their interest in the player before even submitting an offer.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Silver FM, Oloboi Commodore said “Hearts of Oak has not written to Olympics for the services of Awako and his contract runs down in few months.
“The player cannot play for any team in Ghana unless a foreign club after his contract has expired in October,” he concluded.
Hearts of Oak are keen on bolstering their squad ahead of their Legaue title defense next seaosn while they also compete on the CAF Champions League.
Awako, a former Heart of Lions midfielder has experience playing in Africa’s prestigious club competition owing to his stint with Congolese giants TP Mazembe.
