King Faisal are likely to continue using Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman as their home venue in next season’s Ghana Premier League, FMIG can report.
The Kumasi-based side had to adopt the venue for the entirety of the last campaign due to the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
With renovation works at the Baba Yara Stadium bearing completion, talks have began about switching back to Kumasi for the next season.
A section of the King Faisal fraternity also believe due to the support they enjoyed while playing at Techiman, the club should continue to use the venue.
Club owner and President Alhaji Karim Gruzah has shared his view on this, indicating that discussions are still ongoing. He insists a final decision will need to be made subsequently but declared his preference for the club continuing to okay home games at Techiman.
“We are still discussing it. We played at Techiman last season because of the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium. But now that the stadium should be ready for the upcoming season we shall see,” he told Peace FM.
“Personally I enjoyed the support we got from Techiman and I will wish we continue there. That’s my preference.
“But we have to take a collective decision. We were supposed to tackle this as an agenda yesterday in our meeting but that didn’t happen. We shall deliberate on this and take the necessary decision,” he concluded.
