When Karim Zito was handed the coaching job of Vision FC with nine games to end the season, the task looked daunting, herculean and unsurmountable, but the experienced gaffer accepted the challenge.
Magically, Zito, who is currently the winner of Africa’s U20 Cup of Nations, has incredibly saved the side from the drop despite their difficult situation.
The veteran gaffer embarked on, yet again, another paranormal journey of guiding the Division One League side as they battled to escape from the claws of relegation.
Vision FC were positioned 14th on the league table in Zone 3 with 16 points after 19 games, and the once upon a time flamboyant side looked billed for the drop.
But the Dreams FC Technical Director with his remarkable experience stepped in to save the sinking side and succeeded in his bid.
Expectedly, the U20 AFCON winning coach started on a brilliant note, guiding Vision FC to a solitary win over Danbort FC at the Nungua Town Park in Accra.
From 14th position on the table with just 16 points, Zito magically managed 5 wins, 3 draws and a single defeat in the 9 games he played to finish 11th with 33 points.
This has been the second time the gaffer has saved a sinking side from relegation in the last 5 years haven’t saved Inter Allies in 2017.
He left his post with Dreams FC and stepped in the difficult dugout to save the Capelli Boys who were inches away from being relegated from the Ghana Premier League
Taking up the Vision FC task, Zito started on a positive footing making his dreams of saving the club from relegation possible by winning his first game against Danbort.
Following his incredible steering of Vision FC to safety, Zito adds to his enviable achievement as one of the most successful coaches on the local scene.
Zito’s coaching stint has seen him coach all the top clubs in the country including Hearts and Kotoko as well as winning the G8 Tournament with Dreams FC in 2016 upon their Premier League qualification, winning the WAFU Zone B U20 Championship with Ghana as well as the U20 AFCON.
