Black Queens head coach Mercy Tagoe is confident of getting the majority of the invited foreign-based players to join the team as they prepare for the crunch tie against rivals Nigeria.
Only two foreign-based players, Grace Asantewaa (Spain) and Princella Adubea (Spain) have joined the team camping based at Prampram as the team continue enters second week in camp.
Head Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has been speaking to ghanafa.org about the availability of the foreign based players and their availability for the game scheduled for October.
“At least a month to the time, we are now in July so let’s wait and see somewhere after August because our match is in October so by the close of August, I believe they will be available for invitation.”
The likes of Elizabeth Addo (Djurgarden IF), Portia Boakye (Djurgarden IF), Jennifer Cudjoe (Gotham FC), Sherifatu Sumaila (FC Kiryat Gat), Eunice Beckmann (FC Koln), Linda Eshun Club Deportivo Parquesol), and Wasila Dawura-Soale (LSU Soccer) are expected to join the team ahead of the game in October.
Ghana is scheduled to take on the Super Falcons of Nigeria in two qualifying matches in October 2021 and February 2022 for a ticket to the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
