Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah has insisted the club had a successful season despite failing to win a trophy.
The Porcupines Warriors were booted out of the MTN FA Cup by Berekum Chelsea, a week after losing the the League title to their sworn rivals Hearts of Oak.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa FM, the CEO of the club despite admitting the club’s failure to reach their target maintained it was a successful season for the club.
“We were successful in the just-ended season but that wasn’t our target. The target was to at least win the league title,” Amponsah said.
“We had better away results than Hearts of Oak but our home performance wasn’t the best. Playing our games in Accra and Obuasi didn’t help us.”
“We paid GH¢ 10,700 per each home game at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.”
Kotoko’s failure to win a trophy means they will not feature in Africa next month.
