The 2020/21 Division One League season will go into history as one of the most competitive seasons in the history of Ghana football following the stupendous performance of clubs as well as the incredible battle to survive relegation, especially in Zone 1.

With just a game to end the season, there is no winner in the zone with Bofoakwa Tano looking set to stage a return to the Ghana Premier League.

With 64 points in the table, Bofoakwa Tano will have to win their last home game against Berekum Arsenal to cement their qualification to the league.

Followed closely by Real Tamale United who are on 59 points, Bofoakwa Tano can’t afford to drop points in their last game against Berekum Arsenal as that can be detrimental to their promotion ambitions.

A slip from Bofoakwa Tano will see RTU jumping for the glorious opportunity of climbing on top of the table as they also play their last game at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium against Crocodile Stars.

While the Zone 1 is going to the wire with a photo finish, winners in Zone 2 and 3 have already been determined.

Bibiani Goldstars have been runaway winners of Zone 2, crowning themselves champions of the zone even with two games to spare.

In Zone 3, Accra Lions pipped Tema Youth for the title with just a head-to-head advantage over the Mauves.

So while Bibiani Goldstars and Accra Lions get set for the Ghana Premier League next season, it is still unclear as to who secures promotion to the GPL in Zone 1.
