King Faisal took a step closer to survival in the Ghana Premier League as they defeated Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday morning.
Goals from Kwadwo Frimpong and Zubairu Ibrahim sealed a comfortable 2-0 win albeit a hard fought one.
Head Coach Nurudeen Ahmed made only one change to the King Faisal squad responsible for the 1-1 stalemate with Asante Kotoko last week at Obuasi.
Kwadwo Frimpong was back from suspension and he was slotted into the starting eleven at Wadudu Yakubu’s expense.
Dwarfs head coach James Kuuku Dadzie also made just one change to his starting eleven from their 1-1 draw with Hearts last week. Emmanuel Anaful replaced Prince Kpodo in defence for the encounter.
The first half ended in a goalless stalemate after both sides failed to offer much quality attacking moves.
However in the second half, King Faisal broke the deadlock courtesy Kwadwo Frimpong.
Zubairu Ibrahim added a second 10 minutes later to give the home side a cushion.
Faisal then held on strongly to finish the game as Victor’s stretching their unbeaten run to 5 games.
The Insha Allah Boys now move to 11th on the table with a points tally of 40. A draw in their last game is sure to guarantee safety for them.
Dwarfs lie 15th on 38 points just a spot above the relegation zone. And need a win in their last game to help their survival chances.
