Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew has been named Footballer of the Year by the Ghana Football Awards.
The former Swansea City attacker beat competition from great Olympics skipper Gladson Awako and Ajax whiz kid Kudus Mohammed to win the award the award.
Ayew was awarded for his performance for both club and country throughout the calendar year.
He led Ghana to book qualification for next January’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
In the process, he scored two goals in four matches.
At the club level, Andre scored 17 goals and four assists helped the Swans to reach the playoffs but missed out on promotion to Brentford.
