Nana Tufuhene Ofosu Yeboah I, a chief of Dawu has laid his canines into the flesh of Asante Kotoko Head Coach Mariano Barreto.
The furious chief who’s a self confessed Asante Kotoko fan believes the tactical inefficiencies of the Portuguese gaffer is responsible for the club’s failure to annex the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League title more especially their recent league defeat to bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
Known in private life as Seth Yeboah, the former Dawu Youngsters Chairman believes Barreto is only an expensive option delivering close to no results for the club.
Nana Ofosu Yeboah’s sentiments against Barreto is also partly fueled by the unsavory criticism of the latter towards the Dawu Park, home of Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC.
In an interview with Peace FM, Nana Yeboah said “That white man won’t help Kotoko. They should sack him. What’s the essence of paying him the GHs 8000 salary.
“I’m very pissed at his comments about the Dawu Park. If individuals have struggled to put this together and you run it down like that, it’s unfortunate,” he continued.
“If he is a good coach he would have been considered for the job when there were vacancies at Tottenham and other clubs. He is not offering Kotoko anything. It’s better the club compiles his monthly salary of $8000 and use it to fast track their Adako Jachie project.
“The game is over, the league is beyond us so what else is he offering, they should sack him,” Nana Yeboah furiously declared.
Barreto has come under fire for the club’s defeat to Hearts of Oak. A section of the fans have already moved a motion to get the sharp tobgued Portuguese fired from his job.
