Asante Kotoko legend Frimpong Manso has said that Accra Hearts of Oak deserves credit for their slim margin victory over his former side.

Talks around the game centered on which of the two will win and seize the initiative in claiming :the league title eventually. Both Hearts and Kotoko were level on points atop the GPL table and whoever won had the advantage.
Subsequently, Hearts emerged 1-0 winners on the day after Daniel Afriyie Barnieh netted the only goal of the game.
Frimpong Manso, now a coach, in his assessment of the game mentioned Hearts of Oak as deserving winners.
The former Ghana International defender told Kumasi based Silver FM in an interview that Hearts on the day showed greater determination to win, hence they deserve the result.
“We have to commend Hearts for their win. The determination and their overall approach to the game proved they were coiming in to win,” Frimpong Manso told Silver FM.
“For a long time, they’ve not been able to taste league title glory so looking at their faces alone revealed how determined they were. So all in all I think they’ve done well,” he added.
Hearts of Oak now sit top of the table on 59 points, 3 more than Asante Kotoko in second position. The Phobians also have a superior head to head record over their rivals and need two more wins to secure their first league title in a decade.
