Ghanaian striker Joseph Esso opened his scoring account with Algerian side MC Alger in the 3-2 home win over giants ES Setif on Monday.
The former Dreams FC striker powered the home side to the all-important win over the league leaders at the Stade du 5 Julliet 1962.
Mohamed Amine Amoura scored twice in the first half in the 17th and 27th minutes to give Setif the lead.
Nabil Lamara pulled one back six minutes to the break before Abderrahmane Hachoud levelled for Alger in the 68th minute.
The former Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC player scored the winning goal for Mouloudia in the 87th minute to clinch all points of the match.
This is Esso’s first goal for his new side since joining from Dreams FC.
He scored 11 goals for the Still Believe Boys in the Ghana Premier League before joining MC Alger.
Esso has so far made eight appearances for Alger since joining the club in April 2021.
