AshantiGold SC midfielder Eric Esso was named Man of the match when they lost at home to Legon Cities FC in a matchday 27 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.

The Miners suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Sunday kind courtesy a solitary strike by defender Issaka Mohammed.

Esso bossed the midfielder with his strength and energy but that wasn’t enough to get AshantiGold back in the game as they lost.

The defeat means the Royals have done the double over the miners this season after a goal-fest in the first leg which also saw Legon Cities emerge as winners.
