It’s a showdown in Nzemaland as Karela United welcome Great Olympics to the CAM Park on Friday.
The two sides meet in this Ghana Premier League Match Week 27 fixture to determine not just a winner but also who gets the upper hand in the race to end up in the Top 4.
The home side, Karela United currently sit outside the Top 4. They are ranked 5th on the GPL standings and have amassed 42 points. They are just a point away from entering the coveted top 4 bracket and hopefully sustain their chase for the title.
Of their total points won so far this season, 32 have come at home, making them the best in this context in the league alongside Dreams FC who also have picked 32 at home. Karela United have however played a game less (13) when compared to that of Dreams (who have played 14 games at home).
Karela’s home form has seen one player play a pivotal role. Currently sitting atop the GPL top scorer rankings, Taylor has netted 7 of the 15 goals he has scored in the league at home and will be keen to add Olympics to the list of teams he’s netted against at the CAM Park.
Great Olympics approach this game sitting 3rd on the table. They are 3 points away from the top spot and have a chance to climb top with citiry over Karela.
Coach Annor Walker’s side beat Inter Allies 1-0 in their last game and will aim at picking a point at least.
Great Olympics have won 5 away games this season, however much emphasis on the wins shows they recorded them against Opponents who play within Greater Accra, Volta and the Eastern Regions.
Their travels outside the aforementioned regions have returned 5 defeats and 1 draw.
This will certainly give Karela United confidence going into the game.
The earlier meeting between the two ended in a goalless draw and its fitting to declare this game as tricky.
The match will be showed live on TV via StarTimes Adepa Channel 247.
