The President of World Football’s governing body FIFA, Gianni Infantino has penned a congratulatory letter to Kurt E. S. Okraku on his election as the President of the Wafu Zone B.
The Ghana Football Association president was unanimously acclaimed by the members of the WAFU Zone B during the 14th General Assembly in Accra last weekend.
Kurt Okraku emerged the sole candidate to replace Niger’s Djibril Hilla Hamidou who vacated his role to enable him carry out his duties on the CAF Executive Council.
The FIFA president while congratulating Kurt Okraku also wished him well in his new role.
“Your knowledge and leadership, in particular at the helm of Ghana football, your passion and
experience, will undoubtedly have an important impact on the development of our beautiful game in the region. Convinced of the potential of football in Africa, you can count on my personal support and the help of FIFA to achieve this goal,” the statement read.
“I wish you and your team good luck and every success for all the challenges that lie ahead, in creating and witnessing a lasting legacy for the future of football in Ghana, West Africa and on the continent,” the statement continued.
