Interim Communications Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, David Obeng Nyarko has admitted the club is missing the services of striker Kwame Poku.
The promising forward enjoyed a stellar start to the Ghana Premier League season after joining from Division One side, Nkoransa Warriors.
Poku following his sensational performances attracted a lot of interest from African clubs.
However, the 22-year-old forward joined USM Alger in a deal worth €500,000 according to close sources to the club.
With Kotoko currently struggling to find the back of the net, Obeng in an interview admitted they are missing the services of Poku.
“We miss Kwame Poku a lot,” he told Kumasi-based Pure FM.
“His history at the club will forever be in there. He joined the club when there was Covid-19 around but he stood his head up and he did his best for the club.
“Kwame Poku was the only player who played against Hearts of Oak and missed a penalty but he was applauded by the fans.
“I know he is a fine player and he will excel at USM Alger,” he added.
The exciting young attacker scored seven goals for the Porcupine Warriors in the first round of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
