Hearts of Oak Coach Samuel Boadu has revealed he is worried about the absence of his players from the Black Stars squad ahead of the international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast next month.
The Ghana Premier League giants have been impressive in the second round of the Ghana Premier League but have had their players miss out on call-ups to the senior national team.
Coach Akonnor named eight local players in his squad for the double-header with no player in the Hearts squad making the list despite their impressive performances in the ongoing campaign.
Ibrahim Salifu who has been one of the best performing players for the Phobians and in the Ghana league was conspicuously missing out of the list.
The talented midfielder has won multiple man-of-the-match awards and is gunning for the MVP for the season.
Boadu believes his players deserve a call-up due to their impressive performances churned out so far and is optimistic the technical handlers will invite his players in the future.
“I feel so bad that most of my players are not in the National teams, but I believe by the end of the season, we will have them in the team, and things will change”.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have had two of their players Daniel Barnie and Salifu Ibrahim invited to the national U-23 side Black Meteors ahead of next month’s friendly against Japan.
