Head Coach of the Black Stars, CK Akonnor has called on Ghanaians and the press to tone down on the negative press surrounding the Black Stars.

The Black Stars have been under some negative criticism from the media and the citizenry for a while now with many not too pleased with anything the senior national team does.

The former Ghana Captain made reference to the fact that the Black Stars excelled during his playing days because of the love and encouragement they received from Ghanaians and the press.

He, therefore, called on Ghanaians and the media to support the team instead of being pessimistic.

“I’m pleading with you to stop the negativity. The negativity around this team is too much” – CK Akonnor stated.

“During my playing days, we used to receive a lot of encouragement from the fans and journalists” – he added.

“These days things have changed. We need the support, so please tone down on the negativity. – CK further stated.
