Ghana Premier League action continues this weekend with Match Week 23 Fixtures taking place across the various centers.

Opening the weekend is a crucial game between in-form WAFA and Accra Great Olympics. The game takes place at Sogakope with kick-off fixed at 3pm GMT.

WAFA ensured a beautiful comeback win over Berekum Chelsea last week. The Academy Boys twice came from behind to beat The Bibires 3-2 last Friday to clinch their second away win of the season.

The win also handed WAFA their second win on the spin and a win against Great Olympics at Sogakope will be the first time they won three straight games this season.

The Academy Boys lie 8th on the league standings and trail Friday’s opponents by 5 points.

Accra Great Olympics beat Liberty Professionals 2-0 last Sunday to climb third on the League ladder with 37 points.

The Dade Boys are now two points behind leaders Medeama SC and make a tricky trip to Sogakope to face a side with an impressive record at home.

Accra Great Olympics have lost two, drawn one and won one in the second round of the season – picking only three points from a possible 12.

They are the second best away side in the league with a record of 4 wins, 1 draw and 6 defeats in their away games.

However 3 of their wins came at the Accra Sports Stadium, their original home venue so it does not really suggest their away form when they travel outside the capital.

To stand a chance against a WAFA side in good form, Captain Gladson Awako, Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Samuel Ashie Quaye must put on their A – game to make a case at the Red Bull arena at Sogakope.
