Augustine Okrah scored his first goal of the season to help Asante Kotoko beat Legon Cities on Saturday; a result that sends the Porcupine Warriors back on top of the league log.
Legon Cities entertained the Porcupine Warriors in a crucial Match Week 22 fixture of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
The Royals who are battling for survival needed the maximum points to help their fight to beat the drop.
On the other hand, Asante Kotoko who entered the game on the back of a defeat to Medeama last week, needed a result to reassure themselves of their title credentials.
Kotoko Coach Mariano Barreto made two changes to his lineup from the Medeama game. Christopher Nettey and Mudasiru Salifu came in for Samuel Frimpong and Emmanuel Sarkodie for the game.
Star performer Fabio Gama kept his place in the team while Legon Cities Head Coach Bashir Hayford also handed starts to star men Hans Kwoffie and Victorian Adje Adebayor.
Asante Kotoko took the lead in the first half when Fabio Gama’s free kick from the left was beautifully flicked into the net by Augustine Okrah.

The goal was Okrah’s first of the campaign and ensured Kotoko ended the first half on top.
Back from recess, both sides failed to score another goal as Asante Kotoko managed the game to its conclusion.
Eventually, it ended 1 nil on favor of the visitors who now regain top position on the league log.
Sitting on 38 points, the Porcupine Warriors now have 2 more points than second placed Medeama SC who have a game in hand.
