King Faisal left back Eric Donkor says theĀ players fought for the badge following their impressive 0-1 win away at Inter Allies in matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The kumasi based side who before the game had gone five games without a win were tipped to fall in the hands of Inter Allies who were gradually getting back to their best.
But a first half strike from Zubairu Ibrahim was enough to hand them their first away win of the season.
Speaking to the media after the game, Donkor who made his debut and captained the team on the day insisted the players were motivated to go all out on the day.
” We knew what was at stake. Looking at the points build up, we couldn’t afford to lose the game. We were very determined.
” The players didn’t fight for the coach, or the management, but we fought for the badge.
The win against Inter Allies has boosted King Faisal’s survival chances with 13 games to end the 2020/2021 season.
