Asante Kotoko midfielder Fabio Gama has delivered a response to former Ghana international now turned Coach, Ibrahim Tanko about an advice the latter gave the former.
Tanko, a couple of months ago while hailing Gama’s impact at Kotoko advised him to build on his physique to improve on that aspects of his game.
In an interview with Kessben TV, Tanko said “Undoubtedly, he [Gama] is a very good footballer. when you see him with the ball at his feet, you’re easily convinced he’s a good player.
“What’s left is for him to improve on the physical aspect of the game. Ghana football is 80 per cent physical. Hopefully, he should get stronger in the second half [of the season]. Aside from that, he is a very good player,” Tanko revealed
Fabio Gama has reacted to this during an interview with Pure FM in Kumasi. The Brazilian has acknowledged he is working on in his game, especially his physique and fitness.
He however stressed that he needs time to make these adjustments to improve his game.
“We can always improve. I have been working on that. As a player, you have to have strong legs. That’s the most important thing,” Gama said.
“Because if your legs are strong you can run all the match, easy. But this Coach, he’s not wrong, because Ghana Football is so physical. But you can’t get it soon. You need time to get it,” he concluded.
