Hearts of Oak were held to a 1-1 draw by Karela United at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday.
The Accra based giants had to come from behind to pick a late point against a well organized Karela side.
Maxwell Boakye capitalized on a defensive miscommunication in Hearts’ rear guard to put the home team ahead from close range in the 71st minute.
However, Kwadwo Obeng saved the visitors blushes a with a beautiful header from Salifu’s corner kick to snatch a point in the 85th minute.
Karela remain winless in the second round of the campaign after four rounds of matches played.
The result also meant that the Phobians have failed to take advantage of a slip-up by Ghana Premier League rivals Kotoko who lost to Medeama 2-1 on Saturday.
Hearts of Oak maintain their 3rd place on the league log with 34 points, two points adrift league leaders Medeama and one point behind the Porcupine Warriors in second place.
