Asante Kotoko will appear in court in May over the club’s failure to compensate former head coach Steve Polack.

The English gaffer was part of the team’s contingent that were involved in an accident in 2017 while on their way back from Accra to Kumasi after a match against Inter Allies FC.

After four years, Coach Steve Polack and other victims of the accident who suffered various degrees of injuries have not been compensated.

Despite receiving a lot of donation added to the insurance package for the accident, the coach has been neglected by the club since.

The gaffer in the last few months have been on pre-trial hoping to have Asante Kotoko pay up the compensation for the accident.

But the club have been constantly dragging their feet, the matter is now set to proceed to court next month.

“The last few months we have been on pre trial to see if we can settle the matter and if not then we go to court, so we had the first pre trial and the lawyer for Kotoko didn’t turn up.” He told Gye Nyame FM in an interview

“On the second pre trial, a representative from the board came and he said the board was having a meeting and the compensation for the accident victims was on the agenda.

“On the last day of the pre trail this same board member came and said they have a board meeting and we are waiting for a report from the committee to address the issue but the judge said he’s had enough of that so we should move to court.

“After few letters have been sent to the club over the last two years and the reply has always been the same.It doesn’t matter which administration is there,it has always been the same answer and nothing comes out of it.

“For the new administration, we have given them time and nothing comes from it so it’s going to court.

Meanwhile  the hearing has bee scheduled for middle of May(17th May 2021).
