Accra Great Olympics will open the second round of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season with a home game against Medeama SC.
The fixture takes place on ‘Good Friday’ with both teams aiming for a good start to the second half of the campaign.
Great Olympics had a fantastic run in the first half of the season. The Dade Boys defied the odds and put up impressive performances throughout while getting remarkable results.
Under Coach Annor Walker, Olympics picked up 9 wins, 3 draws and 5 defeats in the first round and currently sit 2nd on the table on 30 points.
Medeama SC on the other hand didn’t start the season well but managed to get back on track before the closure of the first round. The Mauves and Yellow arrested a poor start to the campaign and finished the first round as one of the most in-form sides. They started the season with 3 draws and one win in their first 4 games, however they ended with a record of 3 wins and one draw. They now sit fifth on the table and stand a chance to overtake Olympics in second when the two sides meet.
The corresponding fixture in the first half ended in a 1-1 draw at Tarkwa. Surely Medeama look a vastly improved side since while Olympics have maintained their form.
Yaw Preko took charge of Olympics for a brief spell during a time when Annor Walker was indisposed.
He certainly has much knowledge about the team and should use it to his advantage as Head coach of Medeama SC currently.
Expect a closely fought encounter with both sides likely to score.
