Ghana defender Abdul Baba Rahman has rated his recent performances for the Black Stars, admitting there’s still much to be done to return to form again.
Baba Rahman set the standard as Ghana’s best left sided defender due to his defensive abilities and knack for contributing attacking-wise.
However, the left-back has come under increasing public scrutiny in recent times for what many football fans describe as unimpressive performances for the Black Stars.
Rahman was subjected to strict assessment by viewers in the aftermath of Ghana’s 1-1 draw away at South Africa last Thursday and again did not escape the microscopic lens of some football fans despite netting in the subsequent game which resulted in a 3-1 win over Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.
Speaking exclusively to FootballMadeinGhana.com, the player has admitted he’s dropped in his levels of performance due to long standing issues with injuries and fitness.
The Chelsea defender who’s currently on loan at Greek side PAOK FC has vowed to work extra harder to return to his old days.
“Knowing myself and knowing what I’ve been through, I think I still have a lot to catch up with.
“But all the same I think it was an okay performance. I know this is football and many people don’t know what I’ve been through in the past few years. But I’m still trying to catch up with what I’ve lost and to get back to how I used to be,” he disclosed.
