Ghanaian referee Charles Bulu collapsed whilst overseeing proceedings in the final Group K AFCON qualifier between Ivory Coast and Ethiopia.
Bulu collapsed in the 80th Minute of the game and was quickly stretchered off by the medical personnel present at the stadium.
Ivory Coast were leading Ethiopia by 3-1 and with 11 minutes to play, the game was called off as the fourth official who was Ivorian wasn’t deemed fit to handle the game.
Both Ivory Coast and Ethiopia have qualified for the 2022 AFCON and the result of the game couldn’t have had a bearing on either side’s chances of making it to the showpiece.
