The Ghana Football Association President Kurt E. S. Okraku has reacted to the negative commentary surrounding the recent call-up of Kwame Afriyie Adubofour Poku into the Black Stars.
Colchester United’s Kwame Afriyie Poku will join Ghana’s Black Stars squad
The UK-born Ghanaian midfielder who plays for Colchester United was invited to join the senior national team for recent assignments against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
Ghana face South Africa on Thursday March 25 before hosting Sao Tome three days later.
Kwame Poku’s invite by Coach Charles Akonnor has triggered a garboil with several negative reactions that a footballer who plays in the fourth-tier of the English football pyramid is undeserving of a spot in the senior national football team.
However, Kurt Okraku has shared his views to defend the call-up. In a yet to be released interview with FootballMadeinGhana.com, the GFA President said every available Ghanaian footballer worthy of a call up to the national sides should not be denied such an opportunity.

The Exclusive Interview with Kurt E. S. Okraku will be streamed live via the Facebook page of FootballMadeinGhana.com at 20:00 GMT tonight.
