The triumphant Black Satellites team on Tuesday evening presented the U20 AFCON trophy to President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
The delegation led by the President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt E S Okraku, Players and technical team members presented the trophy to the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The President upon receiving the trophy charged the GFA to work hard and win more trophies for the country.
He also pledged to reward each Satellites player with $10k, whiles each member of the technical team will receive $5k each.
Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku thanked the President and pleaded him to revisit the pledge of paying national team coaches.
The occasion was graced by the newly appointed Sports Minister Hon Mustapha Ussif, GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo and the Management Committee of the Black Satellites.
The National U-20 side emerged as the champions of the just ended 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which was held in Mauritania.
Coach Karim Zito’s beat Uganda 2-0 in the finals tournament to clinch their 4th AFCON title at the U-20 level.
