Top Ghanaian Coach Maxwell Konadu has celebrated his compatriot Abdul Karim Zito for winning the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Zito took Black Satellites to the competition hoping to win it for the 4th time in the tournament’s history.
Prior to the competition, Ghana had already won the WAFU Zone B championship and needed to prove their mettle at the biennial showpiece.
Ghana steered their path towards progression in a group that comprised Morocco, Gambia and Tanzania.
In the knockout stage they breezed past tournament favorite Cameroon in the quarter finals, before seeing off Gambia to meet Uganda in the final.
The Black Satellites made sure of the job when they convincingly beat the Ugandans by 2 unanswered with captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh stealing the show.
This guaranteed double success for Coach Karim Zito and his boys and Maxwell Konadu could not hide his joy for his compatriot.
Coach Konadu tweeted
Congratulations Coach Karim Zito, the back room staff and the entire playing body 🎊🎊💥💥💥👏👏👏 https://t.co/MslCx2BULp
