Head Coach of King Faisal Andy Sinason has admitted that King Faisal’s defensive struggles remains his biggest headache in their bid to beat the drop on Ghana’s top flight.
King Faisal have struggled in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season and languish in the bottom places on the league log.
They have the league’s weakest defense by way of goals conceded, letting in 25 goals after 14 games.
Offensively they are ranked 5th best which means a little improvement in their conceding rate will help their quest to survive relegation from the Premier League.
In an interview with FootballMadeinGhana.com, Andy Sinason has revealed it is an observation he has made and is gradually working to improve the team’s situation.
He admits though there have been improvements, there needs to be more hard work to realize set targets.
“King Faisal scores in almost every game so we need to work hard to improve our defence. In my first 4 games, our condeding rate went down, but in the 5th and 6th games, we conceded 6 goals which became a worry,” he told footballmadeinghana.com
“We decided to tighten the defence harder and we saw an improvement by keeping a clean sheet in the next game.
“However in the last game in Accra we conceded one. So it continues to be my headache in finding the perfect balance of conceding less and continuing our scoring form,” he added.
Since taking charge 2 months ago, Andy Sinason has seen some level of progress with the King Faisal team.
Before he arrived they had won just one game in close to a year in the top flight.
With his arrival, he has recorded two wins during this short period.
He mentions that this has become possible by employing the 3 D’s with a fusion of hard work.
“It’s all about having the three D’s in football. Determination, dedication and discipline, when you add hardwork to these three you will get the results,” Andy Sinason said.
“So that is what is helping King Faisal at the moment,” he acknowledged.
King Faisal’s next game is a trip to Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs.
