Serbian gaffer Kosta has explained why he took an early shower as head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, resigning from his position as head coach.
Papic on Monday tendered in his resignation letter citing personal reasons and lack of results as captured by the club’s statement over his resignation.
“My reasons are partly personal, also for the fact that I’m not getting the desired and needed results and I have no hope that it’s going to change,” the club statement quoted Papic.
However, in an interview with Accra-based Angel FM, the former Maritzburg United manager has blamed interference from the club’s board as the reason for his resignation.
”The influence from the management and board in player selection will make every professional coach uncomfortable at Hearts of Oak,” Papic is reported to have told Accra-based Angel FM.
Papic, who was having a second stint with the Phobians, confirmed his departure on Monday, 15 February 2021 after taking charge of ten matches.
He made a bright start after replacing Edward Odoom in November last year.
The Serbian becomes the club’s second coach to vacate post after just 14 games in the league.
His departure paves way for Nii Noi who becomes the clubs 29th coach since 2005.
Papic won four matches, lost three and drew three.
