Ghana’s U20 side – The Black Satellites – safely touched down in Mauritania on Saturday for the 2021 U20 AFCON.
With a private Air Force Jet from Ghana, the Satellites departed before midday and touched base at the Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport before sunset.
The team checked-in at the Hotel Valencia (Nouadhibou) and will start training on Sunday in preparation for their first game against Tanzania in Tuesday.
Head coach Abdul Karim Zito had named a 26-man squad for the tournament which will see Ghana battle Morocco, Gambia and Tanzania in Group C.
The Black Satellites emerged winners of the WAFU Zone B tournament hosted in Benin last year and will be making a case for the region as champions.
The tournament will kickoff on Sunday with host nation Mauritania taking on Cameroon.
