Inspired by top striker Kwame Opoku, Coach Johnson Smith’s side became the first ever team to inflict defeat on Karela United at their dreaded CAM Park at Nzema Ayinase.

Goals from Imoro Ibrahim and Kwame Opoku secured a 2 nil victory over Karela who had gone 25 matches unbeaten prior to the game.

The result saw Kotoko leapfrog Karela United to become table toppers.
