King Faisal top striker Kwame Peprah is eyeing a call-up to the senior national team for next month’s AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
It is expected the Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor will extend invitations to more local players for qualifying games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
Among the names making rounds, Kwame Peprah’s has surfaced and the striker who has been banging in goals for King Faisal in the league has reacted to a potential call-up.
Speaking in the aftermath of scoring the match winner for his side in their 1 nil result over Medeama SC, Peprah said he will be delighted with a call-up.
“If it happens, I will be very much excited. It is every player’s dream to represent your country,” he told reporters during the post match interview
“But I won’t bank all my hopes on it. If it happens, that’s good. If it doesn’t, I will keep working hard to get the recognition I need.
“I want to continue to do what I am doing to help King Faisal stay in the league. That is my biggest goal,” he added.
In a related development, Kwame Peprah has also set his goal targets for the season.
The young striker has netted 8 times in the Ghanaian top flight this season.
He is currently sitting joint second on the top scorers list just one behind leading scorer Diawisie Taylor of Karela United.
Speaking to Kumasi based Silver FM, Kwame Peprah has revealed he wants to hit double targets for the season and will keep going.
