Struggling Ghana Premier League side, King Faisal stunned Bechem United at home as they fought back form a goal down to draw against them.
Bechem United welcomed Faisal to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday for this Ghana Premier League Match Week 8 clash.
Prior to the game, Bechem held an invincible home record, winning all three games played there this season.
The home side were also eager to bounce back from their humiliating 6-1 away defeat to Hearts of Oak during their last outing.
Bechem United enjoyed the early exchanges after bossing play. After a dominant first half, it looked certain that the game was heading for a goalless stalemate until Moro Salifu struck the opening goal.
Bechem United’s captain who has been immense for the Hunters so far this season, proved his worth again, ensuring his side entered the break in the lead.
New King Faisal gaffer, Andy Sinason made some changes prior to the commencement of the second half.
The former All Blacks and Elmina Sharks Coach introduced attacker Kwame Preprah for Kwadwo Frimpong.
The change served the needed impact as 3 minutes after the second half started, Preprah restored parity for the visitors.
King Faisal held on for the points irrespective of the assault launched on their defense by a determined Bechem attack.
The match eventually ended 1-1 with Faisal picking a valuable away point. Despite still languishing in the bottom spot with 6 points, the Insha Allah boys will draw inspiration from this result to push on for survival.
For Bechem, the result means they cede first position to AshantiGold SC although they both have 15 points so far.
Bechem’s next game is at home to Dreams FC while King Faisal will face Elmina Sharks at their adopted home venue at Techiman.
