A few days ago , I read a comment made by Mr. Salifu Shaibu Zida, the Chairman of Upper East Regional Football Association expressing his displeasure towards Black Satellites Assistant Coach Fatawu Salifu.
And I must say am not surprise about the utterance of the RFA Chairman, for sometimes, people pretend you are a bad person just so they don’t feel guilty about the things they did to you.
Zida had attacked Fatawu over a tournament organised for clubs that are not registered with the U/E RFA when in actual fact, the tournament was even organised in the absence of Fatawu who was on national duty in Benin with the U20 side.
The Organisers of the Tournament approached Coach Salifu Fatawu through me as his Manager for Support to engage the teeming young footballers during the festive season of Christmas.
Coach Salifu Fatawu supported all the teams that approached us with a footbal each.
This was done with clear intent to help harness the potential of the few young talents in the Region.
I must put it on record that the Unregistered Clubs Tournament which is the main bone of contention here, was never organised by Coach Salifu Fatawu but rather a group of Coaches and club owners in the Bolga Vicinity.
Coach Salifu Fatawu was not in town until on the 28th of December 2020 when he returned from Accra after their Triumphant Victory in the WAFU Under 20 Championship in Benin.
To make things Clear, Coach Salifu Fatawu is not the Sole owner of Young Juventus Fc but rather a product of Juventus for he passed through the System as a Player before becoming a Coach and now a stakeholder just like many others.
Young Juventus Fc is a registered club and affiliated to the Football Association and exist in the FIFA CONNECT.
It is not true that Coach Salifu Fatawu has been undermining the works of the RFA and that he has been discouraging other Clubs from Participating in RFA Sanctioned Tournament.
I must state on Record that Coach Salifu Fatawu has nothing to do with the Inability of the National Coaches Association to Travel to Upper East to inaugurate the Upper East Branch.
I Put a challenge to Mr. Salifu Shaibu Zida to Prove with Facts on this issue.
I strongly believe that Mr. Salifu Shaibu Zida has undermining the integrity of the National Coaches Association of Ghana by his Utterance.
I plead with the Executives of the National Coaches Association of Ghana to come and Clear this Allegations Zida made.
Coach Salifu Fatawu started as a Player with Young Juventus and later rose to become a CAF License A Coach.
He has been a Humble and Dedicated servant to the game of football and that led to him being appointed as a Scout for Both Right to Dream Academy and also Red Bull Salzburg in the Northern Part of Ghana.
He has been a Coach for Juventus Div.1, No Weapon F.C Div.1, Baby Jet Academy in Berekum, Tanga F.c Div. 1, Utrecht Academy Div. 1 in Tamale, the Swedru All Blacks Div. 1 Side and also Coached Regional Teams and Schools.
As Disciplined as he has been, he nurtured many Players like:
1.David Atanga (Holstein Kiel, Germany)
2. Jordi Akolgo Alba (Germany)
3. Eric Warden
4. Abula Francis (Germany)
5. George Akampeke (USA)
6. Saviour Ayagre (USA)
7. Atigyelsum Peter Yaro (USA)
8. Jeff Ofori (Sweden)
9. Paul Abanga(Inter Allies F.C)
From Juventus Fraternity and many others from other clubs from across the Country.
Through his dedication he encouraged and Supported a few others in Upper East to become CAF License A and C Coaches.
Coach Salifu Fatawu has dedicated his life in unearthing talents in the Upper East Region and Beyond. He has been Supporting many other less Privileged Clubs in the Region for several years and has never been selfish with opportunities for People.
He worked hard in Developing himself as a coach and I must mention that he Merits his Appointment as a National Team Coach.
I must say I feel very Sorry for such an utterance made by Mr. Salifu Shaibu Zida an RFA Chairman and an Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association to have questioned the Credibility of Coach Salifu Fatawu and I think he has undermined the hard working committee that did a thorough research before appointing Mr. Salifu Fatawu as a National Team Coach.
I will want to state that the people of Upper East Embraced the Appointment of Coach Salifu Fatawu as we all knew his appointment was a Game Changing moment for Ghana Football.
We were not surprised the Black Satellites of Ghana Won the WAFU under 20 Championship.
