Ghanaian Midfielder Isaac Twum is on cloud nine after his side Mjøndalen IF earned another opportunity to play topflight football in the 2021 season.
Twum’s Mjøndalen finished 14th of the 16-team league log and had to rely on playoffs to remain in the division.
A hard-fought 3-2 victory over Sogndal at Valerenga’s Intility Arena on Monday ensured Mjøndalen retained their Eliteserien status.
Twum who missed the crucial relegation decider due to a knee injury couldn’t hide his delight after the victory.
“The way I’m very happy, words alone can’t express my excitement.”
“If you look at how we managed to retain our Eliteserien status, all I can say is thank you, Lord.”
“Still short of words, I’m very happy and look forward to the new season where I hope we can do much better.”
The former Inter Allies skipper joined Mjøndalen from now relegated IK Start last September.
