Chief Exacutive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has blamed sacked coach Maxwell Konadu for his immediate introduction of Sulley Muniru in competitive games.
Muniru, junior brother of ex-AC Milan and Inter Star Sulley Muntari, was named in the match day squad for the Ghana Premier League opener against Eleven Wonders despite joining the team three days earlier.
The player was subsequently handed his debut in the second half of the game as Porcupines drew on the day.
Muniru has since failed to live up to the expectation with many questioning about his qualities.
Speaking in an interview with Oyerepa FM, the CEO blamed Maxwell Konadu for the player’s inability to settle in the team insisting the coach introduce him early in the team.
“I was shocked to see Muniru Sulley on the bench of the team, considering he had no match fitness to play in the league, he joined the team only 3 days to our game against Eleven Wonders,”
“As a coach, you have to ease the player into the game, just like Manchester United did to Edson Cavani who was gradually introduced to the team”, he continued.
Maxwell Konadu has since been relieved off his post following the defeat to Great Olympics.
