King Faisal midfielder Wadudu Yakubu says the rumors about the sacking of their head coach affected their performance following their 1-2 defeat to Hearts of Oak on Saturday.
King Faisal suffered their fourth defeat in this season’s Ghana Premier League courtsey Manaf Umar’s last gasp penalty for Hearts of Oak.
Before the game, report went rife in the media that their Serbian trainer has been sacked from the club following a humiliating defeat to Ashantigold.
But the gaffer was seen directing affairs for the club in the game against Hearts of Oak, after the game, Wadudu Yakubu who won the MVP for the game revealed the report affected their performance on the day.
” We came to the game to win. But we went through a lot of things I think it affected our performance. The rumors about the sacking of our coach affected us.”
On the game, Wadudu expressed his disappointment with the results but express believe things will change for better.
“We came to the game to win but unfortunately we couldn’t utilitilze our chances. We were unlucky to concede at that time. But that’s football. We will go back and prepare for our next game.”
King Faisal will face Dreams FC in Matchday seven of the Ghana Premier League.
