Bechem United continued their unbeaten start to the Ghana Premier League season with a 2-1 win over league leaders Karela United on Friday at the Fosu Gyabour Park.
Goals from Steven Owusu and substitute Listowel Amankona were enough to give them the maximum points despite a equalizer from Diawise Taylor.
Bechem United despite dominating the first half couldn’t find the back of the net as Karela United remain resolute at the back.
The Hunters continued from where they left off in the second half having more of the ball looking for the breakthrough.
Steven Owusu finally broke the deadlock of the game on the 48th minute , the striker connected an header from the right side to give his side the lead.
Hafiz Konkoni nearly made it 2-0 after he was put through on goal by but the striker’s header hits the side net.
Diawise Taylor drew the visitors level , the strike took advantage of the confusion in the penalty box to grab his fourth goal of the campaign.
The home side continued dominating in terms of possession but no goal to show.
Bechem United efforts was finally rewarded late in the game as Listowell Amankona restored their lead tapping in a rebound from Richard Baidoo.
