Legon Cities star striker Asamoah Gyan has been ruled out of action for two weeks due to injury, Head Coach Bashir Hayford has confirmed.
The iconic Ghanaian striker signed for the Royals in a high profile move but has yet to really hit the ground running for the side.
Gyan has had fitness issues delay his full debut for the side as they continue to struggle in the season.
He has made some cameo appearances although he’s failed to inspire positive results.
Legon Cities currently languish in the bottom spot on the league log and have failed to win any of their 6 games played so far.
Their most recent loss was to Ebusua Dwarfs on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Missing in action for the game was Asamoah Gyan who was not even named on the squad sheet.
When quizzed about the player’s absence, Coach Bashir Hayford revealed that Asamoah Gyan has an injury and won’t be available for selection for the next two weeks.
“He’s injured he can’t play. He went to the physio and he has been given two weeks that he cannot kick a ball,” Coach Hayford told the press conference.
