Ghana’s U-20 team have qualified to the Africa Youth Championship in Mauritania next year after reaching the finals of the WAFU Zone B U-20 championship via penalty shootout victory over Niger.
The Satellite after 0-0 won 5-3 on penalties to set up a date with the winner of Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.

Danlad Ibrahim ( 6) – Had a quite game and didn’t do much in the game. Made some decent saves to denied the Nigerians. Wasn’t tested much.
2. Uzair Alhassan -(5)- Uzair had a Solid display on the right side. Was very good defensively but didn’t offer much on the attack.
3. Aloma Benjamin – ( 5) Not a bad outing by the Vision FC defender. Combined beautifully with Sulemana on the left side to cause a lot of problems. He was very poor defensively as he struggled to contain the Nigerians attack.
4. Kobina Amoah – ( 6)- Impressive display by the center back. Panicked at the beginning of the game but settled very well and ensure we kept a clean sheets in the game.
5. Nathaniel Adjei -( 6)- Masterclass performance by the defender. Won almost all the aerial duels. Don’t out any foot wrong in the game.
6. Emmanuel Essiam -(6) Energetic display by the midfielder. Wore his socks off for the team. Covered the length and breadth of the pitch for the team.
7. Mathew Cudjoe – (6) Very dangerous with the ball. Caused a lot of problems to the Nigerians defense. Wasted a good chance to give Ghana the lead earlier in the first first half.
8. Huda Issah- (5) Solid performance by the B A United midfielder. Won a lot of battles in midfield. Didn’t put any foot wrong in the game. Was withdrawn for Eugene after the break.
11. Sulemana Mohammed-(6) Started the game very well and caused a lot of problems on the left side. Got tired in the second and couldn’t maintain the same intensity.
9. Percious Boah -(6) Didn’t do much in the attack. Struggled to find space upfront. Nearly score from free kick only to be denied by the goalposts. Scored what could have been a late winner in the game but the goal was wrongfully disallowed.
10. Mugeez Zakaria -(5) Failed to Stamp his authority in the game. Showed a glimpse of his quality when on the attack. Didn’t create any goalscoring opportunity.
Substitute
Eugene Frimpong (5) added energy to the midfield as they struggled to contain the Nigerians. Brought stability in the team.
Frank Boateng (5) Didn’t do much in the game. Was able to cause a lot of problems to the defense. Scored the all important winning penalty to send Ghana through to the final of the competition.
