Ashantigold have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup following a 2-1 defeat to Burkinabe side FC Salitas on Saturday in Ouagadougou.
A first half brace by Stephanie Boissy earned the Burkinabe side a hard fought victory despite a consolation from David Abagna.
The home team took the lead in the 22 minute through Stephene Boissy.
Ashantigold nearly hit back after going down but Hans Kwoffie’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper.
Mark Agyakum came close for Ashantigold before the break but his shot went wide.
The home side doubled their lead just before the break through Stephane Boissy with his second of the day.
David Abagna reduced the deficit for the visitors with a great strike in the added time.
After the break, Ashantigold came all out looking for the needed equalizer.
Mark Agyakum came close again but was denied by the home team’s goalkeeper.
Salitas nearly got the third in the late hours of the game but Bailou produced a good save to deny him.
The home team defended very well and made sure the game end in 2-1.
