The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rescheduled the Champions League clahs between Asante Kotoko and FC Nouadhibou, FMIG can confirm.
The decision was taken after the game, originally fixed for Saturday December 5 was called off due to an impasse that came up between officials of FC Nouadhibou and the match referees.
Prior to kick off, it became clear that Nouadhibou had flouted a directive from the match referee to take out names of 2 players who had tested positive for Covid-19 and isolate them as per requirements.
The FC Nouadhibou officials refused this citing serious doubts about the authenticity of the test results.
The situation lingered eventually delaying the start of the game for a little over an hour.
Eventually the match referee called off the game.
However, barely 5 hours after the development, CAF has issued a notice that the game has been rescheduled for Sunday December 6, at 3pm GMT.
It is unknown yet whether the lingering issues have been resolved.
